Hunawihr is in the heart of Alsace lying between the villages of Riquewihr and Ribauville, and the Co-operative is very well equipped and produces an excellent range of wines starting with the keenly priced generic Reserve Wines. They have a monopoly on the Muehlforst lieu dit and major holdings in two of Hunawihr's Grand Cru vineyards called Rosacker and Froehn. Fine qualities and keen prices are their watchword. The Rosacker has as expected from an aged Riesling classic mineral and petrol overtones with clean and piquant fruit flavours. Subtle yet very imposing in style.
